Daniel specializes in complex commercial real estate properties and provides “in-person” board representation and testimony. Dan has been responsible for a significant portion of the overall success enjoyed by Protax, LLC over the past 30 years. After nearly ten years Daniel left Protax, LLC in 2004 to pursue his own interests as a state-certified general real estate appraiser, successfully completing numerous residential and commercial engagements. Daniel then joined Deloitte & Touche in 2007 which was later absorbed by Thomson-Reuters where he represented and advocated for some of the largest properties and portfolios on the West Coast, including the Pfizer Campus, the W Hotel, Torrey Pines Marriott, and clients such as Blackstone, Home Depot, Ashford Hospitality, and Prologis. Daniel’s experience at Protax, LLC inspired him to develop an “informal request” program in his new corporate environment, which produced millions of dollars in reduced tax bills. This success drew the attention of a corporate vice president from New York, who sought to understand how Daniel generated such substantial revenue so quickly. Despite the program’s success, its progressive nature was not fully embraced by the corporate world; leading Daniel to rejoin Protax, LLC as the Director of Valuation in 2012. This decision, although a horizontal shift, prioritized his long-term peace of mind over short-term financial gain.

Outside of his professional life, Daniel serves as a senior pastor at Fairmount Community Church in San Diego. He has been married for 33 years and has two children. His hobbies include cooking, barbecuing, playing chess, and deep-sea fishing.

Brannon enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors and being physically active in his spare time. Brannon has a Bachelor of Science from San Diego State University with an emphasis in accounting. Brannon has been in the appraisal field since 2004 and has his Certified General License from the State of California.

In his leisure time, Ross enjoys traveling, exercising, and cherishing moments with his family.

She has a proven track record of implementing strategies that drive growth, enhance profitability, and strengthen overall performance. Before joining the Protax, LLC team, Joanna was a member of eight LLCs, three of which used retirement accounts to buy and sell property. She also held a C-33 California Contractor’s License for over 17 years and has an extensive accounting and auditing background. She joined the Protax, LLC team in 2012. Outside of work, Joanna enjoys art, reading non-fiction, cooking, and gardening.

Since joining the Protax, LLC team on June 15, 2009; exactly 19 years after the company’s founding in 1990, Bill has dedicated the past 15 years to expanding his expertise in commercial real estate appraisal. Bill brought his extensive expertise to Protax, LLC after previous roles at Appraisal Pacific and Integra Realty Resources. Bill specializes in appeal appraisal review, compliance, and board appearances, excelling in negotiating with county assessors statewide to secure the greatest possible tax savings for Protax, LLC’s clients. Bill holds a BA in Economics from San Diego State University and resides in Carlsbad, where he enjoys golfing, rock climbing, and parasailing.

Since 2005, he has been in the Real Estate industry providing strategic market evaluations with results that are favorable to the taxpayer. Darian Robinson joined the Protax, LLC team in January of 2009 and specializes in Residential Property Tax Reductions. Darian Robinson is a licensed Certified Residential Appraiser and Senior Real Estate Analyst at Protax, LLC where he analyzes residential property market trends in California. Using detailed market research and current industry techniques, Darian recommends strategies for property tax reductions for taxpayers facing incorrect or overstated assessments. Since 2005, he has provided strategic market evaluations with favorable results for taxpayers. Darian joined Protax, LLC in January 2009 and specializes in Residential Property Tax Reductions.

Darian is dedicated to his wife of over 25 years and values family time, enjoying the company of family and friends. His education includes studies from Rancho Santiago College, Irvine Valley College, Los Angeles City College, Real Estate Trainers Inc., McKissock Appraising Center, Allied Appraisal School, and various continuing education courses to stay updated with industry challenges. He is also a member of the California Alliance of Taxpayer Advocates, a non-profit association dedicated to protecting the rights of property taxpayers in California.

His duties include training new residential appraisers, presenting taxpayers’ cases before formal appellate board hearings, and negotiating tax reductions with assessors and appraisers in most counties throughout California. Since joining the Protax, LLC team in January 2009, Thomas has maintained a high success rate. Thomas began his career in 1993 when he started his own real estate appraisal company, leading a team of appraisers collaborating with banks and mortgage companies. In his spare time Thomas enjoys surfing, golfing, tennis, and photography.

Robin maintains a historical record of these varying protocols, which must be meticulously followed to successfully retrieve the sought-after refund information. These procedures are often subject to sudden changes, depending on the individual in charge. Robin possesses a rare combination of patience and perseverance, enabling her to navigate through the labyrinth of counties and personalities. Retrieving refund information is the final step in a long and arduous appeal process.

Since joining the team in December 2007, Robin has specialized in delivering exceptional service to clients through her meticulous attention to detail. Outside of work, she enjoys interior design, floral arranging, music, Cavaliers, and spending quality time with her family.

His expertise was crucial as Protax, LLC invested heavily in advanced computing systems, networks, servers, workstations, multifunctional devices (fax/copiers/scanners), complex databases with multiple software management programs, and extensive data storage capabilities. With Aaron’s guidance, Protax, LLC emerged as a trailblazer in the property tax appeals industry, leveraging cutting-edge technology to support remote employees and independent contractors worldwide, long before this became common practice. In the early 1990s, Aaron also played a key role in navigating the complexities of operating an in-house mailing department, ensuring the accuracy of specifically targeted mailer solicitations that matched property information across multiple forms.

Aaron has been the technological backbone of Protax, LLC, seamlessly integrating state-of-the-art technology with top-tier personnel to drive the company’s success in the highly competitive field of property tax appeals. His technical prowess has been the foundation of his professional career over the past four decades. In addition to his achievements in IT, Aaron is also pursuing his original dream in the fine arts, as he is an accomplished classical music composer, creating works for prestigious organizations such as the New Mexico Performing Arts Society. During his college years, Aaron earned several degrees, including a Bachelor of Music from Northwestern University and a Master of Fine Arts from Princeton University.

Outside of work in his spare time, he loves outdoor activities and spending time with his children, especially fishing and sports.

Javier enjoys spending time with his family and traveling whenever possible. Javier has 14 years of experience working in several county Assessor’s offices and is familiar with the terminology used within the entire assessment process.

Outside of work, he enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family.

Outside of work, she cherishes time with her family and friends, embraces learning and new experiences, explores the outdoors, and stays active.

Outside of work, Kathy is dedicated to living a healthy lifestyle, fully supporting her husband, and loving and supporting her children, grandchildren, family, and friends.

Before joining Protax, LLC, Joy worked at Eviromatrix, LLC, collecting water samples and conducting tests. She also managed a United Pacific store for over 12 years while earning certificates in Wastewater and Water Technology from Palomar College.Outside of work, Joy thrives in outdoor activities, from hiking in the mountains to riding her motorcycle along the coast. She finds joy in gardening, community involvement, and volunteering with nonprofit organizations.
