Thomas Paine

Thomas Paine is a Senior Residential Property Tax Analyst with over 15 years of experience, having secured over $3 billion in property tax assessment reductions for approximately 3,000 residential homeowners represented by Protax, LLC. This achievement has resulted in combined collective client tax savings exceeding $3.25 million. While Thomas specializes in high-end multimillion-dollar estate homes, he has handled nearly every type of residential property imaginable.

His duties include training new residential appraisers, presenting taxpayers’ cases before formal appellate board hearings, and negotiating tax reductions with assessors and appraisers in most counties throughout California. Since joining the Protax, LLC team in January 2009, Thomas has maintained a high success rate.

Thomas began his career in 1993 when he started his own real estate appraisal company, leading a team of appraisers collaborating with banks and mortgage companies. In his spare time Thomas enjoys surfing, golfing, tennis, and photography.
